Katie Kuriakose

Step away from the restrictive glare of fluorescent lights, put down the corporate playbook, and leave your excuses at the door. If you want to know what it truly takes to completely reinvent your professional identity and skyrocket your business to a staggering 150% of your previous year's production, look no further than Katie Kuriakose. As a premier agent with Keller Williams Elite, Katie is actively rewriting the rules of the industry by trading transactional sales pitches for authentic, lifelong human connections. After all, there’s no substitute for the human touch.

Seven years ago, Katie’s daily routine looked entirely different. Armed with an undergraduate degree from Iowa State and a master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), she spent her working hours inside a bustling hospital setting as a registered dietitian. While she loved the core mission of serving people and helping them better their daily lives, the rigid structure of the corporate ladder and the clinical environment left her creative juices completely starved.

"I learned that I am very much more suited to be an entrepreneur than a corporate employee," Katie shares, looking back on her transition. "The confines of working under those fluorescent lights really felt rather constricting. It didn't allow me to get my creative thinking flowing."

In 2019, she made a bold, aggressive leap that would mortify most traditionally cautious, Type-A nutritionists: she pivoted straight into the fast-paced, unpredictable world of real estate. This move wasn’t for the faint of heart.

While the two industries might seem worlds apart on the surface, Katie quickly realized her medical background gave her a competitive edge. In both professions, true success hinges on the ability to listen to a person's current status and carefully understand what they need to move forward safely.

That elite communication style transformed Katie into an ultimate "connector" rather than a standard salesperson. Her business thrives on an organic, tight-knit web of generational trust. Her clients are more than files on a desk; they are families who pass her name down like a cherished recommendation. In fact, she recently closed her seventh transaction with a single local family, having successfully guided everyone from the grandfather and son to the aunt through the major milestones of buying and selling.

To power through roadblocks and navigate a fluctuating market, Katie keeps a simple, powerful quote taped right to her car dashboard, where it has served as a daily anchor for the last three years: "Find a way, not an excuse."

"With real estate, there are a lot of roadblocks, confusion, and market uncertainty," Katie explains. "Sometimes people just want to throw their hands up and say maybe it's just not meant to be. But there is always a way. We just have to creatively think of it, and that applies to both your career and your personal life."

What makes Katie’s soaring production goals even more impressive is her absolute refusal to let a demanding real estate career hijack her family life. In an industry that notoriously never sleeps, she fiercely protects her personal boundaries through clear, upfront communication.

Her phone stays down at 8:00 PM because she knows her clients are putting their kids to bed, just like she is putting her own daughters, nine-year-old Mila and six-year-old Quinn, to sleep. Every single night, Katie, her daughters, and her husband Tom—the very reason she fell in love with Oklahoma fifteen years ago and chose never to return to Iowa—sit down for a family dinner completely free of electronics.

"Clients appreciate that boundaries exist," Katie says. "You attract like-minded people. A lot of my clients are families too, so if I’m at my kids' ball game, they understand. It actually becomes just another genuine connection point for us."

When she isn't actively breaking into the North Oklahoma City luxury market or hunting down creative solutions for her clients, Katie embraces a simple and grounded life. You can find her catching the travel bug on a family trip, walking her dogs around the neighborhood, or indulging her inner bookworm on the front porch to kick back and relax. In fact, she and her daughters make a weekly ritual out of running to the local library, walking out with a massive canvas bag stuffed with fresh reads for the week.

For Katie Kuriakose, real estate is all about serving others and helping the families who put their dreams in her hands. By choosing to find a way instead of an excuse, she's helping Oklahoma families discover the joy of homeownership.

Looking ahead, Katie hopes to continue growing her business while expanding further into Oklahoma City's luxury market. She has no desire to build a large team. Instead, she'd rather continue doing what she loves most: building genuine relationships, one family at a time. After all, the greatest investment she makes isn't in real estate; it's in people.
