Chris Clark

When you talk with Chris Clark, it’s immediately clear: this is someone who’s never been content with the ordinary. A real estate advisor with Real Broker and a thriving home builder in Oklahoma City, Chris has carved out a career on his own terms—marked by creativity, hustle, and a passion for helping others succeed. Whether it’s mentoring new agents, building homes, or guiding clients through life-changing purchases, Chris sees it all through one powerful lens: business should be about people, not just profit.

From Aerospace to Entrepreneurship
Chris’s journey into real estate wasn’t linear—and that’s part of what makes it so interesting. Before earning his real estate license in 2016, he built a diverse career rooted in small business, marketing, and construction. After studying at OU, Chris gained experience in financial advising, managed a kitchen and bath remodeling gallery, and eventually climbed the ranks at a large aerospace and defense company where he served as director of marketing. When the company was acquired in 2015, Chris was managing marketing efforts across the U.S. and Canada.

But something was pulling him in a different direction.

His father-in-law, Doyle—a seasoned electrician and home builder—offered to mentor him if he started his own construction company. Chris jumped at the chance. “I started the home building company in 2015 during that corporate transition,” he explains. “At first, I just wanted to build one project and see how it went. But I loved it.”

The Leap into Real Estate
Encouraged by friends in the industry, Chris earned his real estate license in late 2016. By 2017, he’d gone all-in, pursuing both real estate sales and home building as a full-time entrepreneur. “At first, I called myself a hybrid,” he says. “I told people, ‘I'm a home builder and a real estate agent.’ It was a way to stay close to my creative, marketing roots.”

A few years in, Chris realized that he loved working with clients—especially the process of helping them connect their dreams with real homes. “I didn’t grow up owning a house,” he shares. “We rented, so buying my first house at 22 was a big deal. I had mentors who encouraged me to do it while I was still in college. That experience shaped how I think about homeownership today.”

Building for the Future
Today, Chris continues to balance his two passions: helping people buy and sell homes, and running his boutique home building company. He currently represents four home builders in addition to managing his own construction projects—typically building three to four homes per year. That creative process keeps him energized. “I think marketers are creators at heart,” he says. “And building houses gives me a way to keep creating.”

In 2023, Chris had his best year in real estate, closing over $15 million in volume. He typically averages 25–30 transactions a year, aiming for the $10–11 million range—a sweet spot that allows him to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

“I tell new agents all the time: this business is a race. You have to figure out what kind of runner you are,” he says. “Not everyone needs to sell 90 homes a year. You have to run your race.”

Mentorship, Mindset, and Mission
Chris has become a mentor for other agents—something he views as both a responsibility and a privilege. “Agents are business owners,” he explains. “And whether you invest in a coach or learn through trial and error, the cost is time. So choose how fast you want to go.”
One of his guiding principles? Collaboration over competition. “We’ve got to work together more,” he says. “When agents stop seeing each other as rivals and start seeing each other as allies, the whole industry wins—and clients get better service.”

Family, Travel, and the Bigger Picture
Away from the business, Chris spends time with his wife, Kelli, an entrepreneur and attorney who owns her own practice in Oklahoma City, and daughter, Brennan who just turned 8 years old this summer. They love to travel, taking a few family trips a year as a way to unwind, recharge, and celebrate the fruits of their hard work.

“We grind, we work, we hustle,” Chris says, “but we do it with purpose. It’s about creating memories and experiences—those are the real rewards.”

A Legacy of Integrity
When asked how he hopes people describe him, Chris’s answer is simple but powerful: “I hope people see me as honest, trustworthy, and a good listener. Someone who isn’t in it for self-gain.”

He adds, “I didn’t get into real estate to make money. I got into it to help people. Whether it's first-time buyers, investors, or other agents—if I can use my experience to give someone a better path forward, that’s the real win.”

Chris Clark isn’t trying to be the biggest name in the business—he’s just trying to run his race well. With a strong sense of purpose, a heart for mentorship, and a passion for creating, it’s clear that he’s already winning.
