“It will all be fine.” That’s the quote etched into the heart of Amanda Bagby’s home—and her mindset. Through life’s twists and turns, Amanda has learned how to pivot with purpose, lean into the unknown, and come out stronger on the other side. Today, she’s wrapping up her second year as a real estate agent at Cherrywood Real Estate with an impressive $11 million in career volume—and she’s just getting started.
Before stepping into real estate, Amanda and her husband both worked for a publicly traded company. After having her fourth child, Amanda made the decision to stay home for eight years. But when the time came to re-enter the professional world, she didn’t look back—she charged forward.
“We started buying rental properties,” Amanda shares. “I was probably the most annoying client because I asked so many questions. We bought 15 houses in 24 months—flipped some, kept others as rentals—and I just loved the entire process. Everything from inspections to negotiations was fascinating to me. And I’m a people person. I needed adult interaction after years with young kids. Real estate gave me that.”
Pivoting with Purpose
Amanda’s career didn’t start in real estate. In fact, she began college pursuing a degree in education. But during her third year, she realized that the classroom wasn’t her calling. “I had a few jobs here and there before joining a small startup,” she explains. “I was employee number eight. Now the company has over 7,000 employees and is international. Watching that kind of growth firsthand showed me that you can overcome anything—and that high standards matter. I’ve carried that with me into real estate. Whether it’s a $50,000 land deal or a $2 million home, I approach every transaction with the same level of care and excellence. It’s all about building relationships.”
But Amanda’s journey hasn’t always been smooth. At 30, she found herself divorced with two young kids and no financial safety net. “I had the nice house, all the stuff, and all the clothes,” she says. “But I didn’t have any money to fall back on.” It was a wake-up call. That chapter of life taught her the importance of financial independence and long-term planning. With the support of her husband Bryan, Amanda laid the foundation for a future that she could be proud of.
Today, Amanda finds immense joy in guiding first-time homebuyers through the process of finding their dream home. “It’s such a rewarding feeling to help them understand what they can afford, walk them through every step, and see their excitement at closing,” she says. “They’re not paying someone else’s mortgage anymore—it’s theirs.”
A Happy Household
Amanda and Bryan have built a beautiful life together. He’s not only a coach to their kids but also runs multiple businesses of his own. Their four children keep them on their toes. Shayla, their oldest at 22, is a teacher at Moore and a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University. Maddox, 18, is a senior at Tuttle High School and an avid basketball player. Landon is in sixth grade and plays just about every little league sport he can, while Brooks, a spirited fourth grader, is right there with him on the field.
The Bagby family loves weekends at their lake house on Lake Texoma, soaking up sunshine and family time on the boat. “I’m in a season where my kids’ hobbies are my hobbies,” Amanda laughs. “One day it’ll be my turn again, and I know I’ll miss these days.”
Top Tips
As for advice to up-and-coming agents? Amanda doesn’t sugarcoat it: “Do the dang open houses.” She credits open houses for launching her real estate career. “I shadowed a few agents, got comfortable, and every weekend I was out there. I got my first buyer that way—and even my highest-revenue buyer. Open houses work. They bring in people outside your sphere and keep your pipeline fresh. Find a brokerage where the values and resources align to you, like I did at Cherrywood. I knew I wanted to focus on building relationships and I needed a brokerage that would support the back office, marketing, and truly be rooting for me and that's Cherrywood.”
Amanda Bagby is the kind of agent who brings grit, grace, and good humor to every deal. She’s the definition of real, and that’s exactly why her clients trust her. Because with Amanda on your side, “it will all be fine.”
